Men's K1 Teams - Collated Flash Quotes

Australian Canoeing Media Services, Monday, 3 October 2005
Anthony Brown (AUS) - 4th Place
On the wind:
“You try and get your line, you try and get your boat in the right place and then all of a sudden the wind blows a gate onto you, it just makes it really hard.”

“It’s not really unfair because everyone is under the same conditions, but when it's gusty it just makes it really hard to do anything.”

On the overall results for Australia:
“Two years ago, in 2003 in Augsburg at the World Championships, the best result the team had was a ninth place and that was it. Then you look at the results from this weekend, we’ve got a World Champion and five or six boats in the top 20 in the world. The teams are all in really good shape, it shows we’re moving forward and it’s really positive for the next few years.”

Daniele Molmenti (ITA)
On his second run:
"Unlucky not to win I think. It's slalom, who knows what is going to happen. Maybe the French god is stronger than our god."

"I think it's pretty good considering it's the first time we'd ever raced together."

"It's not easy after yesterday, but when you're racing for your country you always have to do your best."

Campbell Walsh (GBR)
On his team's overall performance:
"It wasn't the best, we could have been better but our first run probably cost us and didn't give us a good chance."
